Thought I'd share a new custom "family portrait" illustration I recently worked on for a christmas gift for my older brother, sister in law and their new baby Elle.

Setting up Shoppe & Renegade Recap
I have to say with this being my first time attending/selling at the Renegade Craft Show it was quite the experience. I have been following the Renegade shows for a few years now and always had wished I could attend (sadly they don't have one in Florida) so needless to say I was super ecstatic going to the Austin show this year. It really was an amazing not-your-average craft show from the lovely ambiance to the long list of sellers and their beautiful work.
It took a lot of planning and work bringing the QuaintShoppe to life but it was definitely worth it. I got to meet so many wonderful people and vendors and also want to give a huge thanks to all the Quaint folk who stopped by and supported the shoppe :)
There were lots of new quaint goods that were sold at the show and are not currently in the online shoppe - however I will be updating the shoppe with many of the new items in the coming week.

Renegade Craft fair - in Austin!
I can't believe it's almost here...I'm super excited to be selling at The Renegade Craft Fair this year for the Holiday Show in Austin! There will be lots of new shoppe items including new art prints, jewelry & other quaint goods. If you're able to make the show stop by and say hi - and if not I will be updating the shoppe with the new items shortly after the show.

Fall Freebie!

My favorite time of the year..
I don't know why but something about this time of year I find myself most inspired and reenergized. Maybe it's because it also happens to my birthday month so it's a start to my own new year or maybe it's that the summer heat is subsiding, which in FL it can be pretty energy draining. Either way so far it's off to a good start and there is some exciting Quaint news coming up which is going to make for an even more enjoyable fall/winter season but until then - Happy Fall!

Summer Days
This summer has definitely been flying by! In the spirit of these super sunny (although sometimes super stormy) Florida days - I worked on a new illustration that shows my idea of beach essentials. See it - along with other snippets of illustrations in the works - at my Dribbble

lil' boot series
I'm extremely fond of tiny/small/lil' illustrated footwear (as with animal feet - but more on that later). It was particularly brought to light after a few fellow designer friends of mine noticed how I seemed to find much enjoyment everytime I saw an illustration of a tiny boot or shoe including one of their own illustrations of a violinist sporting some pretty snazzy shoes - and more recently on a project where I got to illustrate a distinguished taco wearing some distinguished boots.
That being said, I decided to start a small (no pun intended) project I call the "Lil' Boots Series"where I share a small boot or two once a week if not on the blog then on my dribbble.
Also note, I am accepting boot inquiries :)

A piece of work: Children's Circus Pattern
I got inspired to do a children’s circus pattern print. Although I normally do not endorse/agree with the circus, I still love the idea of the happy – no animal cruelty involved – storybook version of one :)

Local Bites - P is for Pie
I finally got to recently visit one of the newest Orlando sweet spots "P is for Pie". For those who don't know (yet)...
I started hearing some buzz when they were having soft openings right before the holiday season - and selling out every time. Needless to say many Orlando locals have been pretty antsy about getting their hands on these delicious (and adorable) mini pies. We may have gone overboard...but hey, they're small so we figured six equal one slice right?
I also might mention, not only do they have delightful pies but interiors as well. It's just what you'd expect from an artisan pie shop with its rustic elements, it creates a crafty and cozy ambiance. P is for Pie is located in the Audubon Park neighborhood of Orlando.

Quaint Home : Paris
With the New Year comes a new hefty dose of resolutions and goals for the next, and you may have saw on my previous post one of my biggest ones on my own personal list is to finally make my way to visit Paris. It's always been my dream to visit anywhere in Europe, but ever since I was a kid I've had Paris in particular on my mind...
The mere thought of living in such a city has always been intriguing to me and although I've never been there I imagine it to be astonishingly beautiful and romantic - just like this Paris Home Vacation Rental which inspired this weeks "Quaint Home" post. It's full of ornate architecture and the decor is perfectly fitted with new and vintage pieces. To see more snippets of pretty Parisian homes, follow the Pinterest board.

New Years Resolution List - Freebie
Like many, I like making a list of resolutions for 2014 of personal and business/career goals. I can admit sometimes I go overboard, but this year I'm trying to focus on five main ones (at least for my personal list). I find that actually writing them down on paper and tacking it up by my desk helps expedite the goal accomplishing process by making me not lose sight of them - and I thought making it look nice never hurts either. If it's going to be a daily little (and sometimes pesky) reminder of what you need to change and/or improve then why not make it look pretty right?
So here is my simple little new years resolution list design as well as some variations that don't include a business/career column.
